I see a lot of young couples come through my office doors for marriage counseling, but most of them have already convinced themselves that they are making the best decision of their lives. Any warnings or red flags that I might point out after interviewing each of them are quickly dismissed as unimportant. Off they go to the altar, and then, shortly after that, some of them end up in divorce court. I could have steered them differently if they would have only listened. A few do come back to me, this time they are looking for any “dating advice after divorce“ wisdom that I can pass on. I tell them that they still have a future. Love is still a wonderful possibility.
